In my AU, twilight isn't really the ruler of equestria per say, more like she shares the title with celestia and luna and is viewed as a leader but she in no way rules the entire land all by herself. she's all things friendship and acceptance, so she's still the head of her own school which she runs alongside her husband sunburst. being referred to as a prince makes him anxious so he much prefers others referring to him as a professor
and despite looking professional from the outside, twilight still has a difficult time with being in a position of power while also being a mother. her and sunburst's relationship was still pretty young when they started a family and they were and still kind of are an absolute trainwreck about it, but they love eachother very much and are always there for one another and always have been. they're kind of sickeningly sweet, the only time their relationship ever had tension was the months leading up to twilight having artemis, as they were both under a lot of stress and doubt, but the second he was born everything began to fall into place.
artemis was a soft spoken, well mannered little colt, a complete contrast to the way dream weaver acted in her days as a filly. she always thought she was their parent's favorite and constantly bragged about being luna's student.
eventually artemis and dream weaver DO grow extremely close to one another as they grow up, but i think thats a story for another day, as that's kind of unrelated to the madness goin on here lmao ^^"
