I debated back and forth on whether or not to post this but, meh! Why not! owo
After god knows how long, a sudden urge to play around with an MLP concept came to my head and I took to my discord to brainstorm with the squad. Initially it was for the idea of completely retelling how the beginning of MLP:FiM began, but I more or less moved away from that and instead, this is probably moreso a general design for any future MLP AUs I might do (outside of human!AUs that is). I have zero interest in G5, but I don't think I'd mind dabbling in another FiM AU, so we'll see where I end up! owo
For now, this is the exploration sketches I did for the Mane 6. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash are Kirin (the "pegasi"). Fluttershy and Rarity are Deerkin (the "unicorns"). Twilight Sparkle and Applejack are Equine (the "earth ponies").
Some notes on the concept thus far:
-Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth ponies don't exist in this AU. Instead there's 3 "civil" species who make the bulk of the societies that inhabit the land, which are: The Deerkin, the Kirin, the Equine. Other creatures do exist from the show but they will more or less be featured as feral animals with a few exceptions. Dragons will appear so you can expect Spike design concepts at some point :]
-As of right now the Elements of Harmony does not exist in this concept, but magic does. It's likely more limited than what's seen in the show and will follow a slightly more concrete magic system for my own sanity
-Celestia, Luna, and Discord exist in this concept but none of them are royalty. They are legitimate gods, though their importance in the base concept may be very low depending on what I use this for. Like Spike you may expect concept designs of them at some point!
