Fortunately, that mistake isn't ours.
One day, a friend of ours bought a lower trim Pajero Sport by mistake. While he actually wanted the 4x4 model, he bought the 4x2 model instead. In the midst of panicking, he desperately asked us in ADRT Garage to buy this "little truck".
Initially, we didn't have enough funding to buy it, but then it came to mind that one of our partners might want another unique drift car for their PR. So we proposed to build this car for MONILLA Co., who already have a drift-spec Nissan X-Trail in their line up.
Upon their agreement, we started working on the Pajero by stripping all of it's components, incluing engine and steering system, leaving it's bare body shell. We sold them all to raise some fundings to turn this Pajero into a monster. For the new powerplant, we bought an LS, it's an LSX perhaps, fresh off the crate, equipped with aftermarket 6-speed sequential gearbox. We're not an American engines specialist as we've been focusing on the Japs. That's why we asked another partner of ours for assistance, such as for twin-turbocharging and installing stand-alone engine management unit.
Another challenge comes from the suspension system as none of available aftermarket parts for Pajero Sport is suitable for this particular tune. Therefore we teamed up with local fabricator to make custom arms, rods and linkages. We decided to make the arms and rods longer than the originals to give the Pajero Sport a wider stance. We were gonna install a massive set of wheels anyway, with 24"x12" in front and 24"x16" in rear, so it's obvious that we're going radical on this one.
All that setup makes around 700rwhp which is enough to slide this giant, and yes, despite of all the FRP panel replacements, this car is still quite heavy.
...and we're still a group of weebs who like anime stickers...
