DO YOU YIELD?!!

OMFG they actually put my boi King Pablo in the new Mario movie!!  

All jokes aside, The 10.6.2022 Nintendo Direct finally revealed the world-premiere trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which is the first Mario-themed movie made in CGI, second in animated, and third overall!

First impressions? Even though they didn't reveal much, it looks very promising so far. The visuals/animations alone look very impressive (even for game-based movie), the voice actors seem to be a decent fit for their characters, though for the latter, I will say that it's still a lot for me to process. Still, I can already tell that they put a lot of love and thought into this movie, considering that the movie producers and crew members are made up of fans of the beloved Mario series.

My personal biggest hope for this movie is that they put A TON of easter eggs and hidden references/cameos that only TRUE Mario fans and gamers alike would know about and understand right away (I'm praying for at least just ONE SMB2 reference. Seriously, I'll take what I can get!)

This was just a quick sketch I made as a fanart/parody, featuring Pablo from The Backyardigans as "King Pablo" where he was first depicted as such in the episode "Tale of the Mighty Knights: Part 1", but he takes place of the Penguin King from the Mario Movie trailer.
