Ripjaws. The coolest alien design nerfed by a color scheme that made him look like he smelled funny. The pale blue might've been iconic, but it wasn't doing him any favors, to be fair.
His main changes here is that he has a darker, bioluminescent color scheme as well as a design focus that makes him more of an old mythical figure. Ultimately, he isn't that different in anatomy as the original design, but the presentation? Way different.
The voice is chosen to give him the full 'don't judge a voice by it's cover' experience, and him being revealed with Ibara of all characters was basically begging to happen.
Also, mentioning Ibara, I want to briefly mention shipping. Ultimately, Everyone has their opinions, but here's mine. The first question I ask is always 'would this character date at all in high school'. If the answer is no, then I don't bother. I'm not going to point out names, and I'm not going to spoil it now, but in the spirit of 10-B's 'if it can be different, it will be' story approach, YES. Izuku will have a clear and identified GF. Not a love interest, a real, true, 'hey can you get me a snack on the way to class' gf. That is all I will say until he gets the girl.
