A lot of people are thinking he's going to pick Eidolon, but you have to understand that IF Izuku can't possess him, they'd just end up staring at each other until the timer went out. Izuku doesn't have the luxury of experience and exact quirk mechanics. Trying to beat Mirio at all is walking an extremely thin line when your superpower is on a time limit and you've never fought anyone in your life.
