"You teach me, and I'll teach you..."
Here's a little something to switch things up. My friend and I over the last few years have been watching the Pokemon movies together. It suddenly inspired me recently, so I drew Ash and Pikachu! Haven't really drawn anything of Pokemon-- aside from maybe Pikachu once for Inktober in more recent years--since I was little.
I wasn't super deep into the series, but I did rather enjoy it from a young age, likely even before Sonic. Apparently I used to watch it on TV, had a worn out Pikachu poster, and later on got and played a few games--oh, and a folder, too! Lol. I got into drawing a bunch of the Pokemon after playing some of the games before I really got into art a lot more seriously.
But the anime--especially the classic series--had a small part in my life. It was so early that don't even recall watching it on TV much aside from being told, but I knew I liked it because of the Pikachu poster I had worn out so much, lol, so I know I liked Pikachu. I still have the Pikachu and logo cut out and salvaged from it. Frankly, I think Pikachu is still one of my favorites.
Going through these movies is a little bit nostalgic, so that must've been what inspired the idea to draw Ash and Pikachu. I like their wholesome bond with each other.
This was a little something different to draw for some variety, so it was fun! I dunno, I guess the nostalgia just really hit me one night that I just wanted to draw them. It was nice drawing Ash, too. I decided to keep this more simplistic and make it a little quicker to finish than some are. I tried not to be too picky with it, but I didn't really know what to do for the background and couldn't really come up with anything good that was still more simplified. Still, hopefully it looks okay.
